Betty New

Betty L. New, a former resident of Jerusalem Road, Mill Creek, WV and recently of Lavender Fields Assisted Living Facility in Beverly, WV, departed this life Wednesday, January 28, 2026. She had been in declining health for several years. Betty was born on January 25, 1943, in Baltimore, Maryland, to the late Ella Weese. Betty attended the schools of Randolph County. Betty held multiple jobs throughout her life, but most would remember her working at Liggett’s Supply, Wal-Mart, and as a cook for the Randolph County Schools, from where she retired. Betty was always the life of the party and never met a stranger. Betty loved shopping, attending auctions and doing whatever she could do to make people laugh. Betty devoted her time to her family, around whom her life revolved. Left to cherish her memory is her husband Charles “Charlie” New, who resides in Beverly, WV. Betty is also survived by one son Charles Jay Judy and daughter-in-law Kathy, of Elkins, one daughter Kimberly Lloyd and son-in-law Marshall, of Elkins. Betty was predeceased by one son Robert Allen Judy, who is survived by Betty’s daughter-in-law Debbie. She was also predeceased by her brother Phillip Hart. Betty is survived by several grandchildren: Misty Judy Chenoweth and husband Robert, Charles Jared Judy and wife Lauren, Riley Lloyd, Haley Fraley, Aiden Lloyd, Cody Judy and wife Jessica, Caleb Judy and wife Tracey, and Mallorie Judy. Betty was also blessed with several great-grandchildren: Jacob, Jillian, Eli, Elliott, Riley, and Levi Chenoweth, Bennett Fraley, Alice and Elaine Judy.  Friends may call from 10:00 am until 12:00 noon Tuesday, February 3, 2026 at the Tomblyn Funeral Home in Elkins. A funeral service will be held at 12:00 noon Tuesday from the funeral home chapel with Rev. Andrew Boley officiating. Interment will follow in the Elkins Memorial Gardens. In her memory, the family request contributions are made to a charity of choice in Betty’s memory. The Tomblyn Funeral Home has been entrusted for the services of Betty L. New.
