David Swecker

David Lee Swecker, age 83 years, a resident of Elkins passed away Monday morning, February 2, 2026 at his residence under the care of WV Caring Hospice. He was born September 4, 1942 at Elkins, a son of the late Benjamin Franklin Swecker and Bessie Marie Pritt Swecker. He was preceded in death by his wife Margaret Swecker. David is survived by one daughter, Andela Marie Swecker of Elkins; two sisters Elizabeth Bennett and husband Harry of Elkins and Janet Hart and husband Roger and a brother-in-law Benjamin Coberly. Also preceding him in death was one brother Claude Swecker and one sister Karen Coberly. David was a graduate of Elkins High School. He worked as a truck driver delivering bulk mail to post offices for many years prior to his retirement.  A graveside service will be held at 11:00 am Thursday, February 12, 2026 at  Mountain State Memorial Gardens at Gilman.  Rev. Stella Faye Moyer will officiate and interment will follow. The family requests, in lieu of flowers, memorial contributions be made to WV Caring Hospice, P.O. Box 760, Arthurdale, WV 26520 in memory of David. The Tomblyn Funeral Home of Elkins is in charge of the arrangements for David Lee Swecker.
