Allen Watkins

Allen Francis Watkins, age 73 years, a resident of Bowden, WV, passed away Monday, June 8, 2026 at Davis Medical Center. He was born July 28, 1952 at Mt. Airy, Maryland, a son of the late Norman Franklin Watkins and Carrie E. Runkels Watkins. On February 25, 1992, at Mobile, Alabama, he was married to Daphne Cremeens Watkins who survives. Also surviving are two sons, Jonathan D. Thompson & wife Jessica Nicole, Parsons, WV and Alexander Uriah Thompson and wife Kat Nichols of Mobile, AL: one daughter, Kathryn Levon Thompson and partner Evan of Inverness, CA.  A brother David Norman Watkins of Petersburg, WV and nine grandchildren and three great grandchildren also survive. He was preceded in death by one son, David Matthew Thompson and one sister Dorothy M. Watkins Bloyer. Mr. Watkins retired as a crane operator for Crew Boat Services. Friends may call from 10:00 am until 11:00 am Wednesday, June 17, 2026, at the Tomblyn Funeral Home in Elkins. A funeral service will be held at 11:00 AM Wednesday from the funeral home chapel with Deacon Raymond Godwin officiating. Cremation will follow. The family request in lieu of flowers memorial contributions be made to the Randolph County Humane Society, PO Box 785, Elkins, WV, 26241 in memory of Allen. The Tomblyn Funeral Home of Elkins is in charge of the arrangements for Allen Francis Watkins. Condolences may be expressed to the family at www.tomblynfuneralhome.
