Nellie Thompson

Nellie Fern (Haren) Thompson 90, of Sully WV was called home on March 22, 2026.  She was born June 25,1935 at Onego WV. The daughter of John & Alpha (Vance) Haren. She was preceded in death by her husband Hugh Thompson of Sully. They have four children: Doug (Margaret) Thompson, Don (Patricia) Thompson, Lanny (Kimberly) Thompson, Frances and the late (Joe) Woods. Three grandchildren: Kathy Thompson (Josh), D.J. (Melissa) Thompson, Cody Thompson (Jake), Four great-grandchildren: Tyson Messenger, Lindsey Thompson (Brayden), Asheley Morrow (Joey), Zachary Morrow (Jaime), and three great-great grandchildren: Holden, Houston and Colson. Nellie has one sister Bernice Cunningham of Beverly, three siblings preceded her in death, Shirley Adamson, Betty Huffman, and one brother June Haren. She has several special nieces and nephews and a special friend Debbie Chisholm. Nellie was a homemaker and she and Hugh farmed all their lives. She attended the Lambert Community Church of Wymer. She enjoyed spending time with her family and friends. During hay season you would see her on the four-wheeler still being the farm boss. She will be greatly missed.  Nellies wishes were for cremation and celebration of life will be held in May at the family farm in Sully. In lieu of flowers donations can be made to the Randolph County Humane Society, PO Box 785, Elkins, WV 26241 in her name. The family would like to express our sincere thanks to the wonderful staff at ERCC that took such loving care of our mother.
