OBITUARIES
Perry Long, age 95 years, a resident of Ellamore, WV, passed away Saturday, August 22, 2026 in the WV Caring Hospice Center in Elkins. He was born December 19, 1930 at Parsons, WV a son of the late Riley Martin Long and the late Izzy Fridley Long. He was married to Laura Ellen Mason Long who preceded him in death. Surviving are two sons, Perry Lee Long and wife Jeri of Ellamore and Jack ODell Long and wife Lora of French Creek, WV. Three grandchildren, Perry Dale Long, Richard ODell Long and Lori Beth Smith and eight great grandchildren also survive. Also preceding him in death were five brothers, one sister and one great grandson. Mr. Long attended the schools of Tucker County and was a Veteran of the United States Army. He was employed for many years as a timber cutter having worked for Myles Lumber Company and Tom Mallow Logging prior to his retirement. Friends may call from 10:00 am until 11:00 am Wednesday, August 26, 2026 at the Tomblyn Funeral Home in Elkins. A funeral service will be held at 11:00 am Wednesday from the funeral home chapel with Pastor Terry Gower officiating. Interment will follow in the Mountain State Memorial Gardens near Gilman.
